Together.
A downloadable game
Two twins have spent their entire lives inside a hospital. They have ‘abilities’ that the doctors and scientists want to harness and weaponise, but the young boy and girl have other plans.
One night the two of them flee the facility, heading to the sewers underneath for a passage to the outside world - a world they’ve never seen before.
Avoid the security cameras and pools of water, and use your powers to help each other. If you’re going to escape, you are going to have to work together!

Hi, this is the team from thatgamejam that was assigned to review your game. We did that Together, we feel the game is a wonderful gift, and we want first of all to share a heartfelt Thank You!
As we said, all 3 people in our team played your wonderful game. We had some technical issues and inadequate computers. We succeeded to install and eventually (after installing everything needed) it worked well also on older machines. We read the story and we loved it immediately, and we decided that first one player would play on their own and then two people would play it together.
Single player:
Awesome game, incredible story, I love the graphics and the typography too. Enjoyable music and sound effects. Great game play, of course it is not really enjoyable to be sent back to the beginning after completing a number of levels.
I would like to have a control that resizes or minimizes the window (i.e. friendlier than Cntrl Alt Canc, Task Manager, Minimize) so that I can not only pause it, but later return to play (after having used other windows) and maximize it again. I realize the game is meant to be immersive and it certainly is! Feel free to disregard my suggestion.
Single player mode is not easy! However the game is also designed to be played by one person. And the two-people gameplay works well only when players are used to working together and cooperating, also / especially at physical tasks (not just powerpoints!!!). Our close-knit team people, it felt much easier, and I am sure that musicians playing together would be much more so, but pick a couple of friends at random and in my opinion it could be even more difficult than single player mode.
Together: (2 players)
We think your idea is wonderful, we are two siblings, a brother and a sister (not twins, though, but many people believe we are twins), and we enjoyed it very much. It is a very collaborative game. It is not just the superpowers needed to help each other, but also the little things, like the way the box is correctly placed to let the girl without gravity inversion to pass the obstacle. I think it is very well thought, and realistic. (As realistic as anti gravity can be, of course!)
If you want, you could add checkpoints, so that we don't have to restart from the beginning. (Unless it is meant to be more realistic, as they are probably taken to their cell again when seen by cameras)
Thank you from all of us for making this game.
Thank you so much, this is such sweet feedback and we greatly appreciate you playing our game!
Hi, I sadly couldn't play much of your game, as my keyboard didn't have the button I needed to swap gravity. I tried pressing all the buttons, but it didn't work unfortunately :(
I think the visuals of the game look really nice though, and combined with a music I think they create a nice ambience. I think the little I was able to control the characters also felt really nice.
Hi, thanks so much for playing! I’m so sorry you couldn’t play because of your keyboard but thank you so much for your kind comments about the visuals and controls, I really appreciate it! :D
Hi, I would like to say that I also initially found the key for gravity inversion "not obvious", before realizing that actually is just the slash key. Anyway you could add an option to use another key for gravity inversion.
hi, please consider temporarily setting EN/US keyboard
Another feedback:
I love the art-style, the gameplay is amazing, the mechanics are smooth and the sound is amazing. The only feedback is with the Boy, whenever I used the gravity ability with '/' I found myself unable to cancel/stop it early and had to wait out the entire duration? I don't know if it was intended, but would have preferred to be able to stop it early. Furthermore, a weird issue where sometimes when I would retry, the controls for the girl just stopped working and the abilities no longer worked either? (it happens when I try to hold a key while the screen is loading) Also, I soft-locked myself during the tutorial and had to retry, but I don't think having a possible soft-lock is good in the tutorial. But overall, I loved both games!
Hi there, thanks for joining the thatgamejam feedback pairing event. I'd like to share some feedback from an anonymous playtester! Hope it could be helpful!
Gameplay:
I played the game solo, but this worked quite well. The game is very short which is fine. I really like how both have there unique abilities to help each other.
Improvement Recommendations:
I use a European keyboard QWERTZ layout, which is not compatible with the one used for development (I guess US). And it is not linked to the physical keyboard (e.g /). I could only play it after installing US keyboard, which I only do for that game, but would have quit it at that time normally,
Give the animations of both players a offset. Currently they do the same animation at the same time which looks off,
The lights feel "wrong" because they don't really follow the pixel art look,
Intro images could be shown each like 1.5-2x longer,
Add normal maps to the pixel-art which interacts with lights,
Not having checkpoints and to restart the whole level is annoying after a while,
Time should re-fill after use slowly, not when depleted or make it like the gravity ability running until depleted,
Bugs I found:
Once Background Music is "OFF" and set back to like middle, there is no music until a restart,
UI Transitions are very slow. You can still click on things on fade out, which retriggers the fade out animations,
On tabbing out of the game sometimes the audio stops until a restart of the game,
In the second level you can complete it almost without solving any puzzles. The first one you can just jump over the barrier and the last part you can walk with the boy into the loading zone for the end cutscene,
Narrative / Theme:
I think the interpretation for coop is nice and fits very well. Narratively there is a short story and happy ending which makes it a small but enjoyable story.
Visual:
The pixel art is very nice. I really like the design of the characters. Unfortunately the pixel art is not consistent in size and the lights don't interact with the environment and don't follow the pixel art theme.
Audio:
The audio is nice, but sometimes does no longer loop. SFX are missing for walking, which would make it a little bit more atmospheric I think.
UI/UX:
The UI works well for me. It is simple and readable. Animations are for me personally way to slow and feels sometimes un-responsive, like doing nothing.
Game Feel:
The overall feeling is nice. The controls could need some polish, like make it more snappy. Also the start is harsh for learning the abilities, especially the time one where I thought to run with the boy and died a lot. I think the environment could need some particles and ambience. It feels very clean for what I think it should be.
Additional:
In my experience coop games don't work well for game jams, as a lot of players are playing solo. Else it was a very good game and has good pacing and length.
